Morning cheer

I haven't posted in awhile, mostly because I've been studying hard and haven't made time for this little blog, but also because I haven't had much to say, believe it or not (my friends know that I always have something to say). Yesterday I wrote a heavy-handed piece about individualism and the merits of self-sufficiency, but I decided not to post it because it was not consistent with the cheerful character that is Cooper.

So today, I give you this bit of fun:

This morning on the train I sat across from a young woman wearing a tacky home-made dress that amounted to a short muumuu made of shiny red and white floral polyester cinched at the waist with a 4-inch plastique belt. She wore sandals that were strappy to the knee, and fashioned her make-up and hair as a sort of tragic 80s brunette version of Courtney Love. While all of this no doubt sounds terrible enough, the really obscene thing was the way she was nervously swinging her knees open and closed, wearing neither stockings nor undergarments of any kind. Perhaps she intended to show me a little piece of heaven, but it looked like hell to me! Scarred for life, I am.

I would say that I prefer my heaven a with a bit more hair, like this picture; however, though I hate to say it, hers had plenty of hair. Oh well.

Hmmm...who'd have thought you'd be attacked by a beaver on the subway.
