Where's Cooper been?

I've been too busy to post lately, but here's a quick rundown of what I've been up to:

This morning I sent money to Hillary Clinton. It would be a shame for the better equipped candidate to lose because she's outspent by her more charming, but less qualified, opponent.

I finally got my last grade from last semester yesterday. The grade was pretty good, and my GPA rose just a little, which is great, of course. The exam for that class was on December 10, nearly two months ago, and the douchy professor sent this note:
"Just wanted to let everyone know that the IP grades have now been posted. I know it has been frustrating waiting so long and I do apologize. By way of explanation as some of you know from seeing me in the hall, I received the examinations piecemeal in 9 different installments and did not have a complete set of exams to grade until after we returned from break in January (i.e. January 9th). This delay was due to the SecurExam problem and the large number of students in the class taking the exam by SecurExam [the hopelessly archaic computer software used by the school for exams]. At the point that I had all the exams in hand to grade, the spring semester had already started and my office was in the midst of a move from the 3rd floor to the basement (please do come and visit in Rm. 05A!!). I do hope that each of you enjoyed the course and I look forward to seeing you on campus. Regards, [xxx]"

So basically he made a bunch of excuses for why he couldn't be bothered to grade exams for nearly two months. I guess grades matter more to us than to him.

As you may know, my first career was in Classical music, but since starting law school I haven't revisited those skills at all, mostly for lack of time, but also purposely to make a complete change in my life. The other day I found out that my friend Thompson sings with a choir in the city, and he somehow convinced me to crash one of their rehearsals. It ended up being a lot of fun, the people seemed really nice, and I like the repertoire (Duruflé Requiem, among other things), so I agreed to sing with them for their concert in May. I think it will be a good outlet, completely unrelated to law school. Closer to the concert, I'll post details so all you New Yorkers can come.

Other than that, I've just been studying like crazy lately. I've said this a million times before, but law school makes me kind of boring. Maybe I'll try to stir up something interesting this weekend.

You knit. You sing. You're hot. You're smart. You have a hot bf. Surely you have ONE flaw. And boring you're not.

Do you have a clone you can ship to Houston?

I just sent a fat check to Obama to cancel out your Clinton donation. Hillary supported the war (and continues to do so), and therefore gets no help from me!

I too made another online donation to Hillary which hopefully cancels out j. david zacko-smith's check... (btw, does obama even accept checks? I thought he only took online.)

congrats on the grades, and as for the concert, enjoy the chance to decompress from law school and other lifes' stresses.

Two horribly loving and good thoughts:
1. you can see where "experience" has gotten us in the last 8 years. I'll take a fresh approach for $1,000 please. But, Hillary would be Okay. No complaints.
2. FANTASTIC news on the chorus. Music is an amazing outlet for the soul and a place we don't often go as humans.

Obama offers nothing fresh. He just offers thin positions wrapped in messianic tendencies. The cultish way his minions chant is really quite frightening. I also find his supporters to be the most divisive people out there. Unity, indeed.

I'll be donating to Hillary tomorrow when I get paid. I don't need a politician to save me. I need a leader with a plan.

With that out of the way, if I were in NYC, I'd so come see you sing. :)

2 months isn't bad. In the Caribbean after we do our exams at the end of high school, we have to 3 months on average to get ANY of our grades back.

Admittedly the summer was a bit more fun when you knew you wouldn't know your grades until summer was almost over but it did but some undue stress on those of us who had applied for college.

Actually, Dubya didn't have much in the way of experience. He was a lousy businessman and then a lackluster governor. If anything, he's a shining example of why we need someone with real competence and relevant experience.

My vote's with Hillary. So is my money.

I don't know. Being an entrenched politician doesn't mean you have great experience. Besides, Bushes people are the ones with decades of experienced, and in spite of his protests, they are the deciders in his admin, and look how that worked out. The point is who you surround yourself with. No president operates in a vacuum or makes decisions without consultation. I'm sure Obama can surround himself with first rate people to advise him. That's what all presidents do.
