Walk in the Park

I've been completely stressed out with school stuff lately, but yesterday I took a couple hours out of my afternoon to enjoy the nice warm day. Life may not be a walk in the park, but sometimes you have to take one anyway. Ok, that sounds a little too Forrest Gump for me, but I'm going to just go with it for this post.

One thing I learned: If you're going to have a bronze statute of yourself on a horse, you might as well go all out and make it dramatic. This guy was King of Poland, etc., etc., in the 15th century.

Or, better yet, an obelisk makes a nice monument to oneself. This one happens to be to Cleopatra. It's hard to tell the scale in this picture, but I had to stand about 50 yards away in order to get the whole thing in the picture.

Here's the reservoir named after Jackie Kennedy Onassis. The fancy apartments on 5th Avenue look kinda dumpy from here, dontcha think?

Finally, the Central Park Lake has no specific dedicatee; perhaps it is an homage to all of us. Ok, that's just silly. But the view is nice nonetheless.

Forest Park in St. Louis has almost the exact same "guy on the horse statue" but it is of King Louis.

Thanx for posting a pic of the Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis (almost Tempelsman) Reservoir. I've never spent enough time in Central Park to see it.
